Madrid.– The president of the Fuerza del Pueblo and former president of the Republic, Leonel Fernández, led a massive swearing-in event this Thursday in Madrid, where he incorporated leaders from the PRM, PLD, and Partido Esperanza Democrática (PED), as well as professionals, business owners, and community leaders residing in Europe.
During his speech, Fernández highlighted the growth that, as he stated, the organization is experiencing both in the Dominican Republic and in the diaspora, while responding to those who are trying to attract Fuerza del Pueblo leaders to other organizations.
“Our adversaries try to undermine us, entice us, and demoralize us, but they will not be able to, because for every one they manage to entice, a thousand more come to the People’s Force, as we are demonstrating today,” he expressed before hundreds of attendees.

The event was held at the Espacio Eventize in Madrid and, according to the organizers, attendance exceeded the room’s capacity, forcing adjustments to be made to accommodate those present.
Among the notable additions is a group of leaders from the Democratic Hope Party (PED), led by Rolando Mateo, an entrepreneur in the automotive sector and former candidate for deputy. Also joining were former leaders of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), who expressed their support for Fernández’s leadership.

Businesswoman Yaniris Lebrón, a former leader of the PRM in Madrid, stated that she decided to leave that organization due to her dissatisfaction with the current government administration, while television producer Eliezer Sosa Contreras, a former member of the PLD, expressed concern over the rising cost of living in the Dominican Republic.
The activity also included the swearing-in of doctors, health specialists, young professionals, and community leaders residing in Spain, who committed to strengthening the structures of the People’s Force in Europe.
For his part, Marcos Cross, a member of the Political Directorate and liaison for Europe, stated that the day marks a new stage of growth for the organization on the continent, while Rafael Domínguez, president of the Fuerza del Pueblo for Europe, reiterated his commitment to expanding the party’s presence among Dominicans residing abroad.
Leaders of the organization described the meeting as one of the largest political gatherings of Dominicans held recently in Europe and a sign of the strengthening that the People’s Force is experiencing among the diaspora.
