Quito.- An Ecuadorian court sentenced Héctor Oswaldo V. Ch. to 26 years in prison for the femicide of his mother, according to the Prosecutor’s Office classification, after he struck her in the head with a rock last year.
The events took place on August 17, 2025, in a private residential complex in the tropical city of Santo Domingo, where the victim lived with her son. According to the investigation, the man struck her on the head and caused her death.
After the attack, the now-convicted individual left the body outside the dwelling.
During the trial, the prosecutor in the case presented the testimonies of the arresting officers and the forensic autopsy, which determined that the victim died from a skull fracture caused by severe traumatic brain injury.

It also incorporated the crime scene investigation report and a biological expert report that established that the bloodstains found on a stone corresponded to the victim.
Furthermore, the Public Prosecutor’s Office noted that the toxicological examination showed that the aggressor was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
