Santo Domingo.- Upon the completion of the first 100 days of management by the director, doctor Víctor Rosario, the Dr. Ney Arias Lora University Teaching Traumatology Hospital exhibits significant advances in the strengthening, modernization, and expansion of its health services.
Doctor Víctor Rosario highlighted that these advances reflect his administration’s commitment to continuous improvement.
“In these first 100 days we have worked focused on expanding services, modernizing our areas and strengthening comprehensive care. Our goal is to continue raising the quality of service and guarantee dignified and efficient care for all patients,” he expressed.

Likewise, Dr. Rosario said that the Sonography and Doppler areas were renovated, within the framework of the continuous modernization of the hospital.
During this period, the center’s management inaugurated its new Ophthalmology area, as part of the expansion process of its service portfolio, allowing to offer more complete care to the population.
In the preventive field, the center promoted the initiative “A Challenge for Life 2026” during Holy Week 2026, accompanied by an educational talk aimed at patients and family members, focused on prevention, personal care, and responsible decision-making.
Another of the outstanding achievements is the presentation of the new Protocol and Trauma Management Manual, a tool aimed at transforming emergency care, saving lives, and strengthening the national health network through better coordination between centers.
Similarly, the Psychotrauma Unit was inaugurated, a space designed to provide comprehensive care to patients with physical and psychological traumas, strengthening mental health in Santo Domingo Norte and surrounding areas.
In the matter of transplants, the National Transplant Council (CNT) and the National Transplant Coordination Institute (Incort) swore in the hospital’s Transplant Committee, formally constituting it as a Donor Center for Organs and Tissues.
In addition, the hospital coordinated with the Dr. Mario Tolentino Dipp General and Specialty Hospital and the Directorate of Out-of-Hospital Emergency Care Services (DAEH) a plan to guarantee timely hospital transfers, strengthening inter-hospital care.
Likewise, Dr. Rosario reported that the institution also incorporated new hospital beds, with the aim of optimizing care and guaranteeing more comfortable, safe, and adequate spaces for patients.
He also added: “Each of these initiatives responds to a clear vision of transformation of the hospital, where the priority is to save lives, humanize care and continue contributing to the strengthening of the health system.”
Doctor Víctor Rosario also expressed his gratitude to the director of the National Health Service, Doctor Julio Landrón, for the support provided during these first 100 days of management.
The direction of the Dr. Ney Arias Lora Teaching Traumatology University Hospital reiterates its commitment to continue advancing in the modernization, expansion, and humanization of health services, consolidating itself as a benchmark in traumatological and emergency care in the country.
