Santo Domingo.- The Dominican political class participated jointly in the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States, held in the Dominican Republic, in an event that brought together the president, former presidents, presidential candidates, and high-ranking officials on the same diplomatic stage.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic Luis Abinader, former presidents Hipólito Mejía, Danilo Medina and Leonel Fernández, as well as presidential candidates Gonzalo and Carolina Mejía.
The meeting took place in an atmosphere of diplomacy and with a broad representation of national political leadership, where government authorities, opposition figures, and party leaders converged within the framework of the international commemoration held at the residence of the United States Ambassador, Leah Campos, in Dominican territory.
President Luis Abinader attended the event accompanied by his wife and first lady Raquel Arbaje, leading the official representation of the Dominican Government in an activity that stood out for its institutional and protocolary nature.

During the ceremony, former presidents Hipólito Mejía and Danilo Medina shared the same space, greeting each other and interacting with various attendees, coinciding in an atmosphere of respect and political courtesy.
Likewise, other political figures and party leaders participated, such as PLD leader Francisco Domínguez Brito, along with the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs Ito Bisonó, who also took part in the commemorative activity.
