Presidential Commission oversees progress of the new detachment in the Guanito sector of Bayaguana

Monte Plata.— Anderson de los Santos, representative of the Presidential Commission for Support to Provincial Development (CPADP) for the Eastern region, supervised this Thursday the progress in the construction of the new police detachment of the Guanito sector, in Bayaguana. The work is in its final stage and will be officially delivered to the community in the coming days.

The project arose at the request of the residents of Guanito, who expressed the need for a new detachment through a television program. During the intervention, First Lady Raquel Arbaje channeled the request to the president of the CPADP, Ángel de la Cruz Hernández, who arranged an immediate visit to the site. In the initial survey, the authorities found that the old detachment was made of wood and was in deplorable condition. In contrast, the new infrastructure will have modern conditions, including separate dormitories for men and women, cells differentiated by gender, and offices for the different departments of the National Police.

Anderson de los Santos highlighted that this is the third detachment that the institution builds and delivers in the province of Monte Plata.

“The first one was delivered in the municipal district of Don Juan; the second in La Guázuma de Peralvillo; and now the one in Guanito, in Bayaguana,” he explained.

In addition, he announced that the Commission has planned new works to strengthen security in the province, including the construction of a new detachment in Peralvillo, the remodeling of the detachment in the municipality of Yamasá and improvements in the detachments of the municipal district of Los Botados and the community of Majagual. With these actions, the Presidential Commission reaffirms its commitment to support development and citizen security in the communities of the Eastern region.
