Los Ángeles.— The American actor, director, and producer Tyler Perry was sued again for alleged sexual assault, according to court documents recently filed in a United States court. This is the second civil lawsuit of this type against him so far this year, which has generated widespread media attention.
The lawsuit was filed by Mario Rodriguez, an actor and model who had a minor role in the film Boo! A Madea Halloween (2016). According to the accusation, Perry allegedly made unwanted sexual advances and alleged non-consensual touching on several occasions, events that supposedly occurred during private encounters at the producer’s residence in Los Angeles.
The plaintiff claims that the reported behaviors extended over a period of time and caused him emotional harm, psychological distress, and professional setbacks. The complaint includes charges of sexual assault, sexual abuse, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, and seeks financial compensation amounting to 77 million dollars.
In addition to Perry, the lawsuit also mentions Lionsgate, the company that distributed the film in which the plaintiff participated, arguing that the company allegedly ignored or did not adequately investigate the alleged misconduct.
This legal action is added to another lawsuit filed months ago by Derek Dixon, an actor who worked on the series The Oval and Ruthless, who accused Perry of sexual harassment, assault, and workplace retaliation. In that case, the financial claim exceeds 200 million dollars.

For their part, Tyler Perry’s legal representatives have categorically denied all accusations, calling them false and asserting that they are attempts to obtain financial benefits. So far, the producer has not issued personal statements about the new legal process.
It is important to note that the claims are civil in nature and that there are no ongoing criminal charges. The allegations have not yet been proven in court, so Perry maintains the presumption of innocence while the cases proceed through the judicial system.
