Santo Domingo. – The Casa Libros Cultural Center, directed by Greisy Grullón and located at 3 Moisés García Street, Gazcue, held a new edition of its literary gathering “Wine and Ink,” a space conceived to bring authors and their readers closer together through open dialogue and reflection.
On this occasion, writer Luisa Apolinar, author of the novel 50% of This Book Is True, shared a panel with the prominent poet and essayist Basilio Belliard. Together, they engaged in an intimate conversation about creative processes, literature, and the stories that give meaning to the human experience.
During the meeting, Apolinar delved into the essence of her work and shared with the audience the premise that defines her identity as an author:
“If you were to ask an editor about my writing, they would probably tell you about contemporary fiction with social criticism. If you ask me, I write about life, with all its nuances.”
Throughout the evening, the exchange revolved around themes such as forgiveness, love, freedom, and the invisible wounds of the human being; visceral elements present in Apolinar’s narrative that have connected strongly with the public since his literary debut.

As a grand finale to the evening, the author offered a scoop to the attendees by announcing that she is in the final stages of production of her second novel, titled Mutilated by the Social Scalpel, which is scheduled for commercial release between late September and early October of this year.
