Santo Domingo Norte. -The family of Anser Daniel Rincón Fabián, a 15-year-old teenager, and members of his community raised their voices during a peaceful demonstration to demand justice, truth, and concrete answers regarding the circumstances of his death, which occurred on February 12, 2026, while he was training as a baseball prospect.
The demonstration, carried out by community residents and relatives of the minor, arises in the face of the absence of official responses and the deep pain that overwhelms his parents, Danilo Rincón and Mercedes Mambrú, who denounce delays in the investigations and a lack of clarity on the part of the competent authorities.
Anser Daniel Rincón Fabián was a student and prospect at the JM Baseball Academy. According to information provided by his relatives, the teenager died due to cerebral hypoxia, respiratory failure, and drowning in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte, as stated in the death certificate, while the formal autopsy results are still pending.

Several months after the incident, the family is denouncing three aspects they consider unacceptable: the failure of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) to deliver the forensic results, the lack of concrete responses from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the alleged lack of responsibility of the baseball academy where the minor was training.

During the demonstration, the relatives expressed that they seek nothing but justice and truth regarding what happened. The family claims they need to understand what happened to their son and demands a clear explanation about the circumstances surrounding his death, insisting that they have not received sufficient answers after more than four months of waiting.
Likewise, the community expressed its support for the teenager’s parents and reiterated the demand for “Justice for Ansel,” a slogan that summarizes the collective sentiment of those who assert that the case cannot go unpunished.
The relatives maintain that the academy, pointed out by them as responsible for the supervision and care of the minor during his training sessions, has not faced the tragedy nor publicly assumed any responsibility. They also warn that the institution continues to operate normally while uncertainty persists regarding what happened.

In that context, the family makes an urgent appeal to the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to INACIF, and to all corresponding authorities to expedite the investigations, deliver the final forensic report, and determine the corresponding legal responsibilities.
“We need to understand what happened to our son. We want a clear answer and justice for his death,” the family members expressed in their public statement during the community demonstration, while also stating that they will maintain their demand for truth and justice until the case is fully clarified and the appropriate responsibilities are established.
