Santo Domingo.– The weather conditions affecting the northeastern United States continue to impact flight operations at Las Américas International Airport (AILA), where several flights to and from U.S. cities were canceled this Sunday.
The situation caused dozens of passengers to remain at the air terminal while they sought to reschedule their trips or receive information about the status of their itineraries. Long lines of travelers were observed at airline counters as they attempted to find alternatives to reach their destinations.

According to Dominican Airports XXI Century (AERODOM), the cancellations are due to the heavy rains and flooding affecting airports in the northeastern United States, which forced airlines to suspend and delay several operations as a safety measure.
Among the airlines with affected flights are JetBlue, Delta Air Lines, and Arajet, whose operations to and from cities such as New York, Newark, Orlando, and Boston recorded cancellations throughout the day.

Despite the interruptions, some routes were able to operate without issues, allowing for the arrival and departure of scheduled flights from Boston.
