Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Youth, Carlos Valdez, assured this Sunday that the inauguration of the Plaza de la Bandera tunnel represents an important step toward improving mobility and the quality of life for thousands of Dominicans who travel through that area of Greater Santo Domingo daily.

Upon arriving at the inauguration ceremony, the official stated that facilitating traffic is a priority for the Government, considering that smoother circulation also translates into better conditions for Dominican families.

“Facilitating transit is extremely important, and in this way, we are also giving back quality of life to the Dominican families who travel through here daily,” he expressed.

Valdez maintained that the new infrastructure brings greater opportunities for the Southern region and strengthens the country’s connectivity. “The opportunities today for the South and for the entire country are closer, and we continue to connect the country,” he stated.

The minister added that the work reflects President Luis Abinader’s commitment to responding with concrete results to the trust placed by the citizenry.

“That is the commitment that President Luis Abinader has, to return in the form of works the trust that the Dominican people have placed in him,” he indicated.

Likewise, he highlighted that, as a native of San Cristóbal, he feels satisfaction for the impact that this infrastructure will have on the population.

“As a southerner, as a San Cristobal native, of course we take it. I am very glad that today this response for the entire people is returned in quality of life for the Dominican people,” he concluded.
