National Police seizes a large quantity of high-voltage wires and motorcycle chassis in raids in La Vega

La Vega.– The National Police, through the Regional Intelligence Sub-Directorate (DINTEL), seized a large quantity of high-voltage aluminum wire rolls, chopped scooter chassis, and sacks of burned wires, during two raids carried out in different parts of this city, where a man with an outstanding arrest warrant against him was also arrested. This operation was carried out in coordination with the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM), the Preventive Police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The first raid was carried out at the Metalera Alex establishment, located at kilometer 3.7 of the Duarte highway, Soto sector, owned by Alexander Frías Núñez, 37 years old, who was arrested under judicial order No. 595-2021-SAUT-00880, for violation of article 309-2 of the Penal Code (domestic violence). Rolls of high-voltage wires were seized at the scene. The second raid was carried out at the Metalera Núñez business, located on No. 07 street in the Las Carmelitas sector, where chopped scooter chassis and bags of burnt wires were seized. The detainee and the seized items will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes. The National Police calls on the metalworkers of the city not to buy objects from people who cannot justify their origin. These actions fuel illicit activities and affect everyone’s safety. In that sense, the institution emphasized that actions against this practice will continue, as well as raids on those businesses that cannot demonstrate the legality of what they possess.
