Azua. Hundreds of families from the El Caliche, La Colonia Española, Buenos Aires, El Prado sectors and nearby communities benefited from an extensive free medical operation, organized by the United for Health Foundation and the Lions Club, with the participation of the senator for the province of Azua, Lía Díaz.
The event took place at the El Caliche School facilities, where a team of medical specialists offered consultations in pediatrics, general medicine, endocrinology, ophthalmology, and other areas, with the goal of facilitating access to preventive health services and primary care for low-income individuals.
As part of the initiative, school supplies were also delivered to hundreds of children, in an action aimed at supporting the most vulnerable families ahead of the upcoming school term.
During the activity, Senator Lía Díaz, who is also a member of the Lions Club, highlighted the importance of carrying out community outreach events that bring health services closer to the population, contributing to disease prevention and the strengthening of collective well-being.
The legislator also shared with prominent medical professionals, including Dr. Julio Hued, a fellow student, as well as the team of specialists who made the day possible.

The operation involved doctors Ángel Smailyn Féliz, Piña, and Maitet Sánchez, along with other physicians and dozens of volunteers from the United for Health Foundation and the Lions Club.
The activity was also attended by councilwoman Fanny Pérez, who valued the social impact of the day and highlighted the importance of continuing to promote initiatives that guarantee medical care and support to the most needy communities.
