Víctor Castro: “At INABIE, I alerted Pro-Competition about indications of collusion in school lunch tenders”

Santo Domingo, R.D. – In response to information released yesterday, the outgoing executive director of the National Institute of Student Welfare (INABIE), Víctor Castro clarified that it was his own management that alerted the National Commission for the Defense of Competition (Pro-Competencia) about possible indications of collusion of 4 bidders in the bidding processes of the School Feeding Program (PAE). The clarification comes after Pro-Competition announced the start of a formal investigation against four school lunch suppliers for alleged collusion in public tenders.

In that sense, Castro reiterated that it was precisely the alert sent through the Legal Department that gave rise to the investigative process to adjust in this way to due process. Pro-Competition’s investigation was announced through resolution RII-DE-AAC-003-2025 in relation to four bidders that are stated in the note sent by that institution.
