Clement leaves the Atléticos on the field and the Azulejos make history with another walk-off

With this result, the Toronto Blue Jays make history, as it is the first time the franchise starts a season with two consecutive wins leaving the rival on the field. The last time a Major League team achieved something similar was in 2014, when the Tigers and Pirates did it.

Although Clement took the headlines, another key protagonist was the debutant Spencer Miles, who earned the victory after pitching an impeccable top of the 11th inning in his debut in the Major Leagues. The right-hander, selected in the Rule 5 Draft, had not pitched beyond Class A in the minor leagues, but responded under pressure, reaching 98 miles per hour and dominating Oakland’s offense.
