Dominican Republic presents its official roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic

Santo Domingo — The Dominican Republic national team today announced the official roster of players who will defend the national colors in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, with a group loaded with star figures from Major League Baseball and deep talent in all positions. The bench adds high-caliber options such as Oneil Cruz, Jeremy Peña, Agustín Ramírez, Johan Rojas, Amed Rosario and Carlos Santana, with Austin Wells as the starting catcher. In the body of pitchers, top-tier names stand out: Sandy Alcántara, Cristopher Sánchez, Brayan Bello and Luis Severino as outstanding starters, while the bullpen includes arms tested in the elite such as Albert Abreu, Elvis Alvarado, Huáscar Brzozván, Seranthony Domínguez, Camilo Doval, Carlos Estévez, Dennis Santana, Gregory Soto, Edwin Uceta and Abner Uribe.

This roster is added to the list of 30 players that the Dominican selection management officially sent to Major League Baseball (MLB) for the tournament. The formation of the team was the result of a joint effort led by general manager Nelson Cruz, supported by the president of the Dominican Baseball Federation, Juan Núñez, and an advisory staff made up of figures from the Hall of Fame. The official announcement of the rosters was scheduled by the event organization for the day after the delivery.

National baseball legends expressed full confidence in the selected group. Juan Marichal highlighted the leadership of the management and the real possibility of competing for the title; Pedro Martínez emphasized the strength of the pitching staff; and David Ortiz valued the talent and ability of the roster to contend at the highest level.
