Zapopan, Jalisco.– The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) officially announced that the city of Zapopan, Jalisco, has been designated as the venue for the 2026 Caribbean Series, an event that will be held from February 1 to 7, 2026.

The decision was made after the approval of the proposal presented by the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico (LAMP), an initiative promoted by the organization Charros de Jalisco. The designation comes after Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic withdrew their support for the originally planned venue in Gran Caracas, for logistical reasons unrelated to the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional (LVBP). With this choice, Guadalajara will once again host the Caribbean Series, after the success achieved in the 2018 edition, consolidating itself as one of the most important venues in Caribbean baseball. The 2026 Caribbean Series will feature the participation of five teams, made up of the champions of the leagues of Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico corresponding to the current season, with a view to the incorporation of the champion team of Venezuela. Panama has been invited to complete the group of participants. With this designation, Mexico reaffirms its status as one of the main host countries in the history of the tournament, having organized 17 previous editions in the cities of Hermosillo (6), Mazatlán (6), Culiacán (2), Mexicali (2) and Guadalajara. The selection of Jalisco as the venue for the 2026 Caribbean Series highlights the relevance of Mexico within Caribbean baseball and recognizes the strength of its sports infrastructure, as well as the commitment and passion of its fans, elements that guarantee the success of the event and its positive impact in the sports, social and economic spheres.
