CLEVELAND — Dominican shortstop Jeremy Peña continues to be hot with the bat and extended his hitting streak to 12 consecutive games, in the 4-2 victory of the Houston Astros over the Cleveland Guardians, this Friday in Major League Baseball action.

Peña went 5-3 with a run scored, and raised his average to .449 (22 hits in 49 at-bats) during this impressive offensive streak, which includes three home runs and six RBIs. This is his second streak of at least ten consecutive games with a hit this season.
Lefty Colton Gordon (1-1), in his fifth MLB start, earned his first victory in the Major Leagues, pitching five solid innings, allowing one run and seven hits, with five strikeouts. He was drafted in the eighth round in 2021.
