Lakins leads shutout 6-0 and Escogido defeats the Eagles in Santiago

SANTIAGO DE LOS CABALLEROS. – A brilliant mound performance by Travis Lakins led the 6-0 shutout that the Leones del Escogido gave this Tuesday to the Águilas Cibaeñas at the Cibao stadium, also achieving the first victory of the new scarlet manager, Ramón Santiago, in the LIDOM.

Lakins (2-0) dominated the Aguiluchos offense for 4.0 innings, in which he allowed only two hits, gave zero walks and struck out four. The red relief completed the shutout with solid appearances by Diógenes Almengó, Fernando Abad, Robinson Martínez and Trevor Kelley, who worked one inning each without allowing any liberties.
