Santo Domingo, RD. — Pitchers Luis Severino and Brayan Bello will be in charge of starting the two preparation games that the Dominican Republic team will play against the Detroit Tigers, as part of their preparation for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

The warm-up matches are scheduled to take place on March 3rd and 4th at the
Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, and will serve as a prelude to the start of the tournament, scheduled for Friday, March 6th.
The information was provided by the leader of the Dominican team,
Albert Pujols, during the first joint practice of the team held at
LoanDepot Park, the venue where the Group D matches of the tournament will be played.
The training session was supervised by the team’s general manager,
Nelson Cruz, along with Pujols and the rest of the coaching staff, who directed the work in an environment marked by the concentration and enthusiasm of the players.
During the practice, several of the main Dominican figures from Major League Baseball coincided for the first time wearing the tricolor jersey. Among them were

Several of the players, including Soto, Tatis Jr., Machado, and Wells, highlighted the pride of wearing the Dominican uniform in the World Baseball Classic, emphasizing the responsibility of representing the country in one of the most important international baseball events.
The day was also marked by a friendly atmosphere among players and coaching staff, with constant exchanges, smiles, and displays of support that reflect the good chemistry of the group.
The Dominican team will travel this Monday to
Santo Domingo, where they will practice in the afternoon at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium before playing the preparation games against Detroit.
