Couple Accused of Sex Abuse Against Minor Under 14 in Honduras Captured
The Police Investigation Directorate (DPI) in Honduras arrested a 34-year-old lawyer and his 20-year-old partner, both residents of the capital, as alleged perpetrators of the rape and sexual assault of a fourteen-year-old minor. The key material in the case is in the cell phones seized from the suspects, as it is suspected that the recordings made during the act will constitute conclusive evidence in the imminent criminal proceedings.
The Public Ministry quickly processed the detainees, who face charges under Article 249 of the Penal Code (violation) and Article 175 of the Criminal Procedure Code (sexual assault and securing of evidence), which ensures a rigorous process and serious sanctions if found guilty.
From the moment of the arrest, the victim remains protected and under the constant attention of specialists who seek to restore her emotional well-being. According to the police record, the investigation showed that the crime was planned: the woman lured the teenager under the pretext of a “sleepover” during the Valentine’s Day celebrations, and then carried out the assault with her partner.

The DPI carried out the operation after receiving a formal complaint that led to the rapid issuance of the arrest warrant by the Duty Prosecutor’s Office of Tegucigalpa. The location and technical tracking allowed to identify strategic locations where the suspects were moving: Juan Pablo II boulevard and Los Dolores neighborhood, both in the Central District.
The lawyer’s involvement among those implicated caused public outrage, given that legal professionals are expected to have greater respect for the law and the well-being of citizens. Based on the analysis of the file, the authorities indicated that the twenty-year-old woman took advantage of her relationship with the minor to gain access to the home, alleging the performance of an innocent social activity.

During the arrest, two cell phones were seized, which will be subjected to expert analysis at the DPI’s Information Extraction and Analysis Unit. Forensic investigations are expected to confirm the existence of images or videos that support the complaint filed.
The prosecution will request the judicial detention of both defendants to prevent any attempt to flee or pressure the victim or potential witnesses. The evidence gathered and the context of kinship will serve as the main support in the initial hearing and the following steps of the process.
