Lawyer claims wounds of the femicide defendant in Gualey were caused by the victim

Santo Domingo.– José Ramón Montero’s lawyer, accused of the death of Rosmery Sosa Rodríguez in the Gualey sector of the National District, assured that his client has several wounds on his body which, according to his version, had been caused by the victim herself. The statement was offered after Montero voluntarily surrendered to the authorities, who went accompanied by his mother and his legal representative to the headquarters of the Strategic Communications Directorate of the National Police. In a video released after the delivery and in the presence of the police spokesman, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, the lawyer indicated that his client “presents some injuries that he has indicated were caused by the deceased“, although he did not specify the nature or the moment in which said injuries occurred.

Montero is identified as the alleged responsible for the death of Rosmery Sosa, 30 years old, who died during the early hours of this Friday due to stab wounds, in an event that left three minor children orphaned. Authorities reported that the case remains under investigation and that the Public Prosecutor’s Office will be in charge of establishing the real circumstances of the event, as well as evaluating the allegations presented by the defense, in accordance with due process.
