Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Women graduated 200 people who completed specialized programs at the Magaly Pineda School of Equality, aimed at strengthening the incorporation of a gender perspective, preventing violence, and promoting transformations in workplace and institutional spaces.
The First Ordinary Graduation of 2026 was composed of women and men, of whom more than 150 are female graduates, coming from public institutions, private companies, educational centers, unions, social organizations, and other spaces of citizen participation.
During the graduation ceremony, the Minister of Women, Gloria Reyes, pointed out that training in gender equality strengthens the capabilities of those who provide services in institutions and contributes to consolidating democracy, by bringing the rights enshrined in the Constitution closer to the citizenry through public policies and services with an equality approach.
“Every person graduating today strengthens Dominican democracy. Every skill you acquire shortens the distance between what the Constitution promises and what the citizenry receives,” he expressed.
Reyes acknowledged the effort of each graduate, and especially that of the women, many of whom completed the training process while balancing family and work responsibilities.

He also valued male participation, considering that the transformation of gender relations requires their active involvement and the questioning of traditional models of masculinity.

The graduates completed the programs Basic Principles for Equality, Psychosocial Risks in the Work Environment, Planning for Equality, and Masculinities for Equality.
These training sessions provided tools to integrate a gender perspective into institutional planning and management, identify psychosocial risks, prevent violence, promote healthy work environments, and foster relationships based on co-responsibility and respect for rights.

The Magaly Pineda School of Equality is the body responsible for training at the Ministry of Women regarding gender issues. It operates under the Vice Ministry of Equality Culture, through the Directorate of Gender Education, and develops programs aimed at institutions, organizations, companies, and the general public.
Among the public entities represented were the ministries of the Presidency, Public Administration, Finance and Economy, Foreign Affairs, Interior and Police, Public Works and Communications, Higher Education, Science and Technology, Agriculture, and Youth.
Representatives from the National Health Service, the National Institute for Technical and Vocational Training, the National Institute for Comprehensive Early Childhood Care, the National Council for Children and Adolescents, the National Institute for Teacher Training and Development, the Superior Electoral Court, and the Superintendency of Pensions, among other entities, also participated.
Representatives from the private sector included Banco Caribe, Banreservas, Banco BHD, Banco Adopem, Banco Popular, Bepensa, Argos Dominicana, Grupo Estrella, Metaldom, Gildan Dominicana, and Cemdoe.
The participation of these companies evidenced the growing interest of the productive sector in strengthening policies and practices that favor inclusive, safe work environments that respect women’s rights.
The event was also attended by the Vice Minister of Culture of Equality, Lily Luciano, and the Director of Gender Education, Fátima Lorenzo, as well as the teaching staff, institutional authorities, and representatives from the business, labor, academic, and social sectors.

The graduation concluded with the commitment of the graduates to apply the knowledge acquired in their institutions, organizations, and communities, and to contribute from their areas of action to making equality a daily practice.
