PN arrests “El Tuerto” and “Papacito” in the act for alleged fraud with bank cards in Santiago
Santiago.- The National Police reported the arrest in flagrante delicto of two men accused of committing fraud with bank cards, during an operation carried out in a supermarket in the El Embrujo sector, in this city.
This is about Yendel Alexis Bernal Medina (a) El Tuerto and Ismael Vizcaíno (a) Papacito, both residents of the municipality of Los Alcarrizos, Santo Domingo province.
The arrest occurred after security personnel at the establishment detected the suspicious maneuvers of the individuals, who were caught and handed over to the police officers of the Crime Investigation Section against Property, based at the detachment in the Junta de los Dos Caminos sector.
During the intervention, they were seized two cell phones and more than 30 bank cards from different financial institutions, several of them in the name of third parties. Preliminary investigations establish that the suspects are allegedly engaged in exchanging cards with unsuspecting users at ATMs, using distraction and deception techniques.
The arrested individuals, along with the seized evidence, will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
