They commemorate the creation of the National Police in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo. – The National Police of the Dominican Republic commemorates on March 2nd a new anniversary of its creation, an institution responsible for guaranteeing public order, citizen security, and the enforcement of laws throughout the national territory.
The entity was officially created on March 2, 1936, through Law No. 1528, during the government of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo, consolidating in a single structure the different law enforcement bodies that operated at the time.
Since its founding, the National Police has played a fundamental role in preserving social peace in the Dominican Republic, evolving through various reforms aimed at strengthening professionalization, transparency, and respect for human rights.
Over the years, the institution has implemented modernization and training processes for its agents, with the aim of responding more efficiently to the challenges of citizen security and new criminal modalities.
