Santo Domingo. – The Minister of Housing and Buildings, Carlos Bonilla, assured that the inauguration of the Clinical Surgical Hospital marks a historic day for the Dominican Republic, as the Dr. Luis Eduardo Aybar Health City is 100% complete.
“We have already put more than a thousand hospital beds into operation just through MIVED. We found this hospital at 35% and today we are delivering it completely finished. President Abinader made the commitment and fulfilled it,” Bonilla expressed. The official highlighted that the new hospital offers 232 beds, 14 operating rooms, 40 intensive care cubicles and 28 hemodialysis chairs, integrating with the almost 800 beds that are already part of the Health City. He also highlighted that the complex’s burn unit is the most complete in the entire Caribbean, equipped with specialized operating rooms and ICUs, which will allow it to respond to large-scale emergencies. “This unique hospital in the region will allow each patient to receive diagnosis, clinical care, and treatment in the same place, without the need to move to another center. It is a space that will save lives and transform Dominican health,” said the minister.
