New York .- US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he is happy about the death of Robert Mueller, the former FBI director who led the investigation into alleged interference by the Russian government in his 2016 election campaign.
“Robert Mueller has just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer harm innocent people!”, wrote the Republican leader on his Truth Social network.
The Mueller family, who had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, reported his passing today in a statement. Born in New York in 1944, Mueller was the sixth director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) between 2001 and 2013, a position he reached just a week before the 9/11 attacks. During his term, several of his operatives were the first to denounce the abuses that were committed in the secret prisons established by the CIA in various parts of the world after the terrorist acts of 2001.
