Peña also highlighted the recent announcement of 2,000 million pesos that will be allocated to sports constructions nationwide. Minister Cruz reviewed the progress and recalled that 27 sports facilities have already been delivered during his administration.“It is a great honor to be able to accompany you on this date that celebrates the commitment and dedication of the clubs, which are the heart of the communities. Whoever enters a sports club, their life changes. It is a healthy world that goes beyond the sport itself,” said the vice president.
The official added that “27 works have been delivered in a year, and more than 20 are from clubs” and that last Sunday 25 more multi-purpose roofs were announced throughout the national territory, along with the repairs of the sports complexes of San Pedro de Macorís and La Vega, as well as the baseball stadium of San Juan de la Maguana, with an investment of 2,000 million from an extraordinary transfer, of money seized by agreements with the Dominican justice and that will be returned to the Dominican Republic through youth with sports works.“We have seriously taken on the commitment that National Clubs Day will not be just another day. The clubs are the engine, the furnace that produces our athletes. Last year, on this very stage, the works were announced and several clubs have already started and others that have already received 20 percent of the funds,” Cruz assured.
