Santiago.– Yadiel Rosario, 10, who passed away following a gas tank explosion at a fried food stand in San Francisco de Macorís, had been left motherless just a year ago, when she died during childbirth, a tragedy that today revives the pain of a family marked by loss.
Rosario passed away while receiving medical attention at the Thelma Rosario Burn Unit, at the Doctor Arturo Grullón Regional University Children’s Hospital, in Santiago, after suffering severe burns during the explosion that occurred while she was accompanying her father at the fry stand where he worked.

His father remains hospitalized in critical condition at the Dr. Ney Arias Lora Trauma Hospital in Santo Domingo, where he is receiving specialized care due to the severe burns suffered during the incident.
The explosion caused a fire that left seven people injured, including three minors.

The family’s tragedy was confirmed by Alexandra Rodríguez, the wife of the minor’s uncle, who explained that after his mother’s death during childbirth a year ago, Yadiel went to live under the care of an aunt.
“We arrived just now, two days ago. The boy was with us. Since his mom died, he lived with his aunt. Now his dad is also very, very hurt in Santo Domingo,” she expressed with evident dismay.
Rodríguez indicated that the minor’s maternal family is originally from Yamasá, Monte Plata province, and remains devastated by a tragedy that, in less than a year, has brought mourning to the home once again.
So far, Yadiel Rosario is the only fatality of the explosion that occurred at the fry shop located on Libertad Avenue, in San Francisco de Macorís, while authorities keep investigations open to determine the causes of the incident.
