The DNCD explained that the vapers were hidden in a false bottom of a cardboard box that, according to the cargo declaration, contained only used clothing and canned food. Several rolls of paper were also found inside.

According to the preliminary investigation, the package was sent by a woman residing in Brooklyn and was addressed to a man allegedly residing in Piedra Blanca, a municipality of Jarabacoa, in the province of La Vega.

The authorities indicated that the devices were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), where they will be analyzed to determine the composition of the liquid contained in the electronic cigarettes.
