Santo Domingo.– The Cyber Police Area Directorate of the National Police reported the arrest of two men who were wanted by the justice system for their alleged participation in the receipt of illicit fund transfers to the detriment of a banking entity.
One of the detainees was identified as Mario Manuel Ramírez Hernández, who was arrested in the Simón Bolívar sector, in the National District, during an operation carried out by members of the Central Unit for the Capture of Fugitives, Rebels and Convicts, in coordination with the Department of Operations of the Cyber Police.
According to the police report, an arrest warrant No. 0156-October-2023 had been issued against Ramírez Hernández for his alleged involvement in receiving a fraudulent transfer of RD$184,000 into a bank account. The act constitutes an alleged violation of articles 6, 15, and 17 of Law 53-07 on High-Tech Crimes and Offenses.
In a second intervention, police officers arrested Fernando Rosario Bautista in the municipality of Bonao, Monseñor Nouel province, in coordination with investigation members from that jurisdiction and specialized personnel from the Cyber Police.

According to investigations, Rosario Bautista was wanted under judicial order No. 0130-June-2025, accused of having received an illicit transfer in November 2023 in the amount of RD$20,100, causing economic damages to both the affected financial institution and its clients.

The authorities indicated that both cases arose as a result of complaints filed with the competent bodies regarding fraudulent maneuvers related to electronic transfers and other high-tech crimes.
The detainees will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes, while investigations continue to determine if they are related to other similar criminal actions.
