Santo Domingo.- In the framework of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the arrival of the Neocatechumenal Way to the Dominican Republic, the Dominican Postal Institute (INPOSDOM) launched a commemorative postal issue during an emotional act held this Wednesday in the Casa Arquidiocesana María de La Altagracia (House of Conviviality of the Neocatechumenal Way).
During the ceremony, the general director of INPOSDOM, Erick Guzmán, highlighted the symbolic and cultural importance of the issuance, describing it as a “visual tribute to the God who walks with his people.” Guzmán added that with each letter sent, not only will the message travel, but also the testimony of faith, communion and mission, reflecting a living Church and a people who continue to believe in love and mutual service.
For his part, Alonzo Gómez, priest and national head of the Neocatechumenal Way, expressed his gratitude for the recognition and highlighted the movement’s 50 years of evangelizing work, calling the broadcast a tribute to pastoral renewal, Christian formation, and missionary presence in various communities.
The event was attended by ecclesiastical authorities, INPOSDOM officials, philatelists, and members of the Neocatechumenal Way, who shared an act filled with memory and gratitude.
The issue consists of 20,000 copies printed in blocks of four stamps with a face value of RD$60.00 each. The design was by architect Alejandro Vignieri, and it has legal backing through Presidential Decree No. 687-23, dated December 29, 2023.

The design of the seal symbolically reflects the impact of the Neocatechumenal Way, which since 1974 has strengthened the faith of thousands of Dominicans, through its catechesis, liturgy, and evangelizing mission in the dioceses of the country.
Nicolás Richardson, head of the national evangelization team, recalled in his welcoming words how the Neocatechumenal Way began as a small flame in the sectors of the capital, transforming the lives of young people and families in the light of the Gospel.
With this action, INPOSDOM reaffirms its commitment to historical preservation and the promotion of philately as a tool for disseminating and recognizing events and institutions that contribute to the strengthening of national identity.

The ceremony concluded with the performance of the anthem “Quisqueya” by the servants of the Casa de Convivencia and the presentation of an institutional gift, which included a painting of the Virgin, unveiled at the event.
Commemorative stamps are available for sale to the public at the Philately Department of the INPOSDOM headquarters, in Santo Domingo.
