The academic program included keynote lectures, practical activities, and interactive sessions that addressed crucial topics such as pre-transplant evaluation, advanced surgical techniques like “split” liver transplantation, anesthetic management and postoperative intensive care, as well as the long-term follow-up of pediatric transplant patients. Among the international experts who participated as speakers were doctors Nuria Montferrer, Cristina Dopazo, Concepción Gómez-Guevara, Mercedes Pérez, María Vásquez, and doctors José Andrés Molino, Juan Ortega and José del Carmen Caraballo, who shared clinical experiences and reference results of their work in specialized centers. This course is part of HGPS’s ongoing commitment to high-level medical training, the constant updating of health personnel, and the commitment to excellence in specialized medical services in the Dominican Republic.
