Santo Domingo.- The Organizing Committee of the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games reported this Sunday that public transport services provided by the State will be free during the celebration of the event, from July 24 to August 8, to facilitate spectator access to the main competition venues.

The measure includes the buses of the Metropolitan Office of Bus Services (OMSA), the subway, and the Santo Domingo cable car, as part of the agreements reached with the institutions responsible for those services.

The Transportation manager for Santo Domingo 2026, Julio Florentino, explained that the provision seeks to facilitate travel to the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center and the Parque del Este, the main venues for the Games.

The organizing committee reminded that both facilities will function as pedestrian areas during the event, so access by private vehicles will be limited due to the reduced availability of parking spaces.

At the Olympic Center, the Santo Domingo Metro has three stations in its vicinity, while the Concepción Bona station, on line 2, is located less than four kilometers from the Parque del Este.

For those who choose to travel by private vehicle, the committee has enabled parking areas in the vicinity of both venues.

In the case of the Olympic Center, parking at the Palace of Fine Arts and the Plaza de la Cultura will be available.

In addition, the Sambil shopping center will enable one level of its parking lot with a rate of 50 pesos per vehicle.

In the Parque del Este, attendees will be able to use the Faro a Colón parking lot, located next to the sports complex, from where they can access the competition venues on foot.
