The first baby of the year 2026 is born in HOMS in Santiago
Santiago. – The Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago (HOMS) registered this Thursday, January 1, 2026, the first birth of the year in this city, with the arrival of baby Benjamín Odiel Domínguez Marichal, an event that marks in a special way the beginning of the new year in the main private health center of the Northern region.
The delivery took place by cesarean section in the maternity ward of HOMS, ahead of the date scheduled for February 5, according to his relatives. Benjamín is the son of Santiago journalist Onelio Domínguez and Rosanna Marichal.
