Santo Domingo.- Dominican freestyle exponents Éxodo Lirical and Numenosis asserted that the Dominican Republic is going through one of its best moments within the international improvised rap battle scene, thanks to the growth of its representatives and the expansion of Dominican culture in other countries.
During an interview granted to De Último Minuto, both freestylers shared their recent experiences in international Red Bull Batalla competitions and highlighted the impact their participation outside the country has had.
Numenosis, who took third place in the 2026 Red Bull Batalla Central American Final, confessed that he is still processing what he experienced on stage.

“I still keep watching the videos from every angle. It was a dream I fulfilled and something I had been waiting for for a long time. I still can’t believe it,” he expressed.
For his part, Éxodo Lirical valued his recent participation in Chile as a historic achievement, where he starred in one of the most viral moments of the day thanks to a minute of improvisation that generated thousands of reactions on social media against the Argentine competitor, Larrix.

“I went to demonstrate Dominican presence. Many people had been waiting for years to see that version at one hundred percent and I feel it was what was missing for things to be cooked with that seasoning,” he stated.
The four-time national champion asserted that Dominican freestyle has gained visibility throughout Hispanic America and that currently, Dominican slang, accent, and expressions are recognized by international figures in the discipline.
As he explained, for years he tried to adapt to the international style, but now he considers that the time has come for the global movement to also adapt to the Dominican identity.
“Before, they used to tell me they didn’t understand some of the words we used. Now our culture is known through artists, songs, and memes. What we have is unique and has become a superpower,” he stated.
Both freestylers already have their sights set on Bogotá, Colombia, host of the 2027 Red Bull Batalla Central American Final. Numenosis stated that he has already begun preparing to face the demands of the competition, especially due to the altitude conditions of the Colombian capital.
Likewise, they took advantage of the interview to motivate young people interested in freestyle to continue sending their registration entries and not give up on their aspirations.
“Exodo qualified on his first attempt and it took me seven years. They are two different paths that show that you shouldn’t give up,” pointed out Numenosis.
Finally, both made a call to government institutions, especially the ministries of Culture, Sports and Youth, to provide support to the Dominican representatives who compete in international arenas.
The artists considered that institutional support could facilitate migration processes and open opportunities for more national talents to represent the country in global competitions.
