New York.— The
New York Knicks convincingly defeated the
San Antonio Spurs 114-89 this Sunday at
Madison Square Garden, ending the Texan team’s 11-game winning streak in the
NBA championship game.

Point guard
Jalen Brunson led the New York offense with 24 points, while
Mikal Bridges added 25 units to lead the attack that neutralized the Spurs.
The Knicks’ defense was decisive, limiting San Antonio to less than 30 points in each quarter of the game, including just 20 points in the second and final period.
For the Spurs, Frenchman
Victor Wembanyama was the standout with 25 points and 13 rebounds in 34 minutes of action, although his effort was not enough to avoid the defeat.
In the match, the Dominican
Karl-Anthony Towns also stood out, who recorded a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds and also surpassed the 16,000-point mark in his NBA career.
With the triumph, the Knicks added their second consecutive victory and remain in third place in the Eastern Conference, six and a half games behind the leader
