SANTO DOMINGO. The flags of the 37 participating countries in the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 were raised this Thursday during an official ceremony held at the Plaza de las Banderas of the Central American and Caribbean Village, located in Ciudad Juan Bosch.

The event marked the official welcome for the delegations that will compete in the multi-sport event and symbolized unity, respect, and coexistence among the nations before the start of the competitions.
The national flags, placed in alphabetical order and with the flag of the Dominican Republic in the center as the host country, were raised by members of the Dominican Republic Navy in the presence of athletes, coaches, officials, and heads of mission.
One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony was the flyover by a Dominican Air Force helicopter, which carried the national flag over the Central American Village.
The Governor of the Village, César Heredia, and the Secretary General of Centro Caribe Sports, Sara Rosario, officially welcomed the delegations and highlighted the spirit of brotherhood that characterizes the Games.
As part of the protocol, Heredia exchanged gifts with the heads of mission from each country, who presented gifts representative of their respective nations.
The XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 will be inaugurated this Friday, July 24, while the competitions will run until August 8, with the participation of more than 6,200 athletes from across the region.
