Santiago.- The municipality of Villa Bisonó (Navarrete) is under a large police and military deployment, with more than 70% of commercial establishments closed and dozens of meters destroyed, amidst the 48-hour strike called by popular organizations.
The protest, which spans this Monday and Tuesday, has generated a considerable reduction in traffic, although vehicles continue to circulate partially in an east-west direction towards Santiago and towards the Northwest Line.
During the early hours of the day, burning tires and obstacles were observed placed at different points along the road, while National Police agents and members of the Army remain deployed to prevent disturbances of the peace.
One of the events that has marked the day is the destruction of dozens of meters, in actions that directly affect the service and increase tension in a community that keeps a large part of its commercial activity closed.
The director of the Central Cibao Command of the National Police, General Jesús R. Tejada Tejada (Tito), personally supervised the operation from the early hours and stated that police and military units remain strategically positioned to preserve order and prevent violent acts.

So far, no clashes between protesters and authorities have been reported, although the presence of obstacles and burning tires keeps several points in Navarrete under surveillance.
The organizing entities have called on the population to support the stoppage, while the authorities maintain permanent monitoring of the area in case of any eventuality.
