The multi-millionaire businessman Ibraguím Suleimánov, linked to the former Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, was arrested in the city of Moscow on suspicion of ordering a murder, Russian media reported this Friday.
“Ibraguím Suleimánov has been detained in Moscow. He is suspected of having committed a crime classified under Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code (murder),” declared a source cited by the TASS agency.
According to the Kommersant newspaper, this is the murder of Georgy Tal, former director of the Federal Financial Recovery and Bankruptcy Service, in 2004.
Suleimánov, arrested yesterday, was apprehended along with the perpetrator of the crime.
According to the Shot Telegram channel, he is also being investigated for another murder committed in 1999.

The businessman was sentenced to ten and a half years in prison in 2004 for money laundering and fraud of more than $4.5 million, for which he was paroled in 2015.
Along with his brother, Suleimánov owned the company Sirena-Travel, an IT services company linked to the passenger transport and tourism sector.
Through the Leonardo system, a service included in the detainee’s company, 80% of airline tickets in Russia are sold.

In addition, Suleimanov was the son-in-law of one of the founders of Yukos, Platon Lebedev, a businessman close to the former Russian oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky, a known adversary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who served nine years in prison and is now dedicated to political opposition from outside the country.
