The Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eden Bar Tal, assured that his country maintains the willingness to continue supporting Honduras through cooperation programs aimed at the development of strategic areas such as agriculture, water, health, and education.
The Israeli official highlighted that the collaboration seeks to provide specialized tools and knowledge that allow for strengthening the capabilities of Honduran professionals and generating solutions adapted to the country’s needs.
As explained, the cooperation begins with the arrival of experts who conduct diagnostics to identify the main challenges and subsequently propose work strategies together with local teams.
“First, we send experts to conduct an analysis of what skills they need. Based on that, we carry out a process of delivering professional reports to local professionals,” Bar Tal detailed.

Knowledge transfer
The Israeli representative explained that one of the main objectives is to boost capacity building through the training of Honduran specialists.
As indicated, Israel not only seeks to implement projects, but also to share methodologies and tools so that local professionals can continue developing solutions.
“We develop skills so that local experts know more, have more tools, and can do the job much better,” he/she expressed.

Support in water management and technology
One of the topics highlighted by Israel is the efficient management of water resources.
The official explained that the Israeli experience is focused on making better use of existing water sources to ensure a more sustainable supply throughout the year.
This approach also applies to other areas such as energy, health, and agricultural production.
Israel is internationally recognized for the development of technologies related to the efficient use of water, irrigation systems, and solutions for coping with adverse weather conditions.
Relationship between Honduras and Israel
Bar Tal recalled that Honduran President Nasry Asfura visited Jerusalem before taking office, a meeting that, he stated, strengthened the bonds of friendship between both countries.

The diplomatic representative highlighted that the bilateral relationship is based on cooperation, trust, and the ties built over several years.
“Deep friendship, deep principles, united trust; we, based on that deep friendship, relate to the people of Honduras and the current president,” he stated.
In addition, he assured that Israel hopes to maintain a close relationship with Honduras over the coming years. Israeli authorities highlighted projects focused on water, agriculture, health, and education.
Health cooperation
As part of the exchange between both nations, a Honduran delegation visited Hadassah Hospital, where they learned about technological advancements and medical care models implemented in Israel.
During the visit, opportunities for collaboration in healthcare staff training and medical knowledge transfer were addressed.
The head of the hospital’s neurology and cystic fibrosis unit, Malena Cohen, explained that the institution has experience in international cooperation.

“We have the example of collaboration with several countries worldwide, many in South America and Central America, with more than 15 years providing knowledge and training personnel,” he noted.
Israeli authorities reiterated that cooperation with Honduras will continue to focus on projects that allow for the improvement of technical capabilities and the promotion of long-term solutions.
Both countries seek to strengthen their relations through professional exchanges, technical assistance, and training programs in sectors considered priorities for development.
