Santo Domingo.- The lawyer and union leader Jhonny Aristy formally announced his aspirations for the presidency of the Bar Association of the Dominican Republic (CARD) for the 2026-2029 period, considering that the institution requires a new stage of leadership, unity, and institutional strengthening.
Aristy stated that his decision seeks to rescue, clean up, and relaunch the guild, with the purpose that the Bar Association recovers the role that corresponds to it as a public corporation and responds to the current challenges of the justice system and the needs of legal professionals in the country.
“The Bar Association must be connected to the social and professional reality in which we, Dominican lawyers, practice. Our guild needs leadership that is committed, experienced, sensitive, and possesses the real will to defend the achievements and demands required by the legal profession,” he expressed.
The candidate to lead the CARD maintained that lawyers deserve an institution focused on the dignification of professional practice, union defense, administrative modernization, and the strengthening of the justice system as a guarantee of legal certainty for society.
Likewise, he indicated that his proposal will be based on a CARD 2026-2029 Action Plan, which will include initiatives aimed at promoting the unity of the legal community, recovering institutional prestige, promoting administrative transparency, strengthening permanent training, and defending the rights of lawyers.

Aristy stated that his candidacy represents an invitation to all legal professionals to participate in building a new stage for the guild, based on collective commitment and active participation.
“Today we firmly assume this decision, convinced that together we can restore the prestige to our guild,” he pointed out.
