Santiago.– The Ombudsman put its first regional delegation into operation this Wednesday in Santiago de los Caballeros, an office that seeks to bring the institution’s services closer to the citizens of the Northern region and strengthen the protection of fundamental rights.
During the inauguration ceremony, the Ombudsman, Pablo Ulloa, explained that the opening of the North Regional Delegation is part of the institution’s territorial expansion process, with the goal of facilitating public access to its services and offering a more agile response to citizen complaints.
Ulloa indicated that this initiative is included in the Institutional Strategic Plan and will allow for improved coordination with the central office, in addition to strengthening actions for guidance, prevention, and the promotion of human rights.
The official maintained that the new office will contribute to addressing citizens’ complaints more quickly, promoting human rights education programs, and strengthening coordination with public institutions, local governments, and civil society organizations.
