Senate recognizes Jaime Francisco Sued for his contributions to the pharmaceutical industry

Santo Domingo.– The Senate of the Republic recognized businessman Jaime Francisco Sued Pichardo this Tuesday for his business career and his contributions to the strengthening of the Dominican pharmaceutical industry, during a ceremony held in the Multipurpose Hall of the legislative body.

The distinction was granted through a resolution approved unanimously by the Senate Plenary, at the initiative of the senator for María Trinidad Sánchez, Alexis Victoria Yeb, who highlighted Sued Pichardo’s impact on the development of the pharmaceutical sector and his contribution to the health system and the national economy.

The President of the Senate, Ricardo de los Santos, led the ceremony and highlighted that the honoree has been a benchmark for the Dominican business community due to his vision and commitment to the national production of medicines.

“It is an honor for the Senate to recognize a person who has contributed to the development of the country and who has left a legacy of hard work, innovation, and the creation of opportunities,” the legislator expressed.

During his speech, Alexis Victoria Yeb stated that the businessman’s trajectory represents an example of perseverance and service to the country, considering that his leadership helped boost the growth of the pharmaceutical industry and strengthen national production.

Upon receiving the recognition, Jaime Francisco Sued Pichardo expressed his gratitude for the distinction and dedicated it to his family and the collaborators who have accompanied him throughout his career.

“This recognition also belongs to those who have worked alongside me throughout all these years. It has been a privilege to be able to contribute to the development of the Dominican Republic,” he stated.

Sued Pichardo founded Laboratorios Sued S.A. in 1970, a company that became one of the first plants dedicated to the manufacturing of medicines in the country and that has contributed to the expansion of the Dominican pharmaceutical industry into international markets.

The activity was attended by legislators, representatives of the business sector, executives of financial entities, pharmaceutical entrepreneurs, family members, and friends of the honoree, who highlighted his career and his contribution to the economic and health development of the country.
