Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Republic’s Meteorology Institute (INDOMET) forecast that during the morning, a large part of the Dominican territory will remain with a sky of little cloudiness and only isolated showers are expected towards towns on the Atlantic coast, but in the afternoon, local effects and the incidence of a trough at high levels of the troposphere will produce cloud increases with locally moderate to heavy showers, electrical storms and wind gusts, especially towards the Central Mountain Range, the southwest and the border area, in towns of Elías Piña, San Juan, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, Santiago, San José de Ocoa, La Vega, the north of Azua, the mountainous area of Pedernales and other neighboring locations until the early hours of the night.
As for tomorrow, Saturday, in the morning hours, a mostly clear sky will be appreciated in large areas of the national territory, while some isolated showers are expected towards the Atlantic coastal zone, due to cloudiness transported by the wind. In the afternoon, the trough aloft will continue to influence the weather conditions, favoring the development of clouds that will generate locally moderate to heavy showers, electrical storms and wind gusts over Elías Piña, San Juan, Dajabón, Santiago Rodríguez, Azua, the south of Santiago, among other neighboring provinces, with momentarily moderate showers towards Hato Mayor, El Seibo and San Pedro de Macorís.

We are reporting on a low-pressure area located near the northwestern part of the Bahamas islands. This has a low probability (10%) of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 7 days.
We are also reporting on a tropical wave that will be emerging from the western coasts of Africa and which has, in seven days, a 30% probability of developing into a tropical cyclone.
