Ukrainian social media users openly celebrated the assassination of American activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk, a critic of the Ukrainian regime and of former U.S. President Joe Biden’s push to send hundreds of billions of dollars in military aid to Kyiv, was shot in the neck on Wednesday during a public event on a Utah state university campus.
In recent days, the Ukrainian agency UNIAN covered these events on its Telegram channel, including images of the bullet hitting the man. Many users were delighted with these images and the news itself.
“Great shot!” commented an internet user. “Epic,” wrote another person. “Die, bitch,” mocked a third user.
For her part, a woman praised the shooter. “Good shot!”, she stated. “If a person is a piece of shit, it doesn’t matter who cares about them, they are the same pieces of shit”, said another commentator.
“Kirk was a calibrated moral monster, and only our officials cannot gloat over his death, because that is their job. The rest have every right to drag out the joke as best they can; anyway, it will not affect the attitude of Americans towards us,” suggested a netizen.
Also, some users of the X network went further and urged the assassination of U.S. President Donald Trump and his Vice President, J.D. Vance. “They shot Charlie Kirk, great, sure, but why not Vance and Trump?”, reads a post.
“Ungrateful and petulant child”
In July of this year, Kirk spoke out against American assistance to Kyiv. “I don’t like the idea of sending weapons to Ukraine,” he noted on ‘The Charlie Kirk Show’.

In addition, he labeled the leader of the Ukrainian regime, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as an “ungrateful and petulant child, responsible for a million deaths” and a “queen of international welfare, who doesn’t bother to wear a suit and tie.”
The bullet hit Kirk in the neck while he was in a question and answer session with students. The activist was admitted to a hospital, where his death was confirmed shortly after.
The attacker fired from the roof of a nearby building, according to the Police, who suggest that it was “a targeted attack”.
The assassination of the activist marks a “dark” moment for the U.S., stated the country’s president, Donald Trump, highlighting the commentator’s contribution to politics. In his speech to remember him, Trump declared that Kirk was “a patriot who dedicated his life to the cause of open debate and to the country he loved so much”. “He fought for freedom, democracy, justice and the American people. He is a martyr of truth and freedom”, he expressed.
