Santo Domingo. – The Plenary of the Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic (CCRD) approved, in its thirteenth ordinary session held on August 14, four audit reports corresponding to the Municipal District Board of Maizal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Mimarena) and the Ministry of the Presidency (Minpre).
These reports were prepared in compliance with the attributions conferred by the Constitution of the Republic and Law No. 18-24, on the oversight of investment and public spending, each accompanied by its corresponding legal report.
The first corresponds to the audit performed on the financial information contained in the budget execution statements of the Municipal District Board of Maizal, municipality of Esperanza, Valverde province, during the period from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2016.
The second report refers to the audit carried out on the budget execution statements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), corresponding to the period from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018.
The third one gathers the results of the audit of the financial information included in the financial statements of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Mimarena), for the period from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019.
The fourth report corresponds to the audit carried out on the budget execution of the Ministry of the Presidency (Minpre), in the period between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021.
The documents include recommendations and improvement provisions formulated by the audit teams, which must be followed up by the Court of Auditors, in coordination with the Comptroller General of the Republic, the internal control units and other competent bodies.
To date, and less than 100 days into the current administration, the CCRD Plenary has approved 20 audit reports, reflecting its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the responsible use of public resources, in strict adherence to the Constitution and the laws.
