Family reports disappearance of man after being arrested by the Police in Tamboril, Santiago

Santiago.- The disappearance of a man after being arrested by agents of the National Police in the municipality of Tamboril has his relatives on edge, who claim they have not known his whereabouts since this Wednesday morning and are demanding an immediate response from the authorities.

It is Jesús Antonio Taveras Tobía, known as “Chelito”, 38 years old, who, according to his relatives, was detained around 9:00 in the morning at the González grocery store, located in Tamboril, Santiago province.

According to the version provided by the family, after his arrest Taveras Tobía was taken to the local police station, but was subsequently allegedly moved to an unidentified location, without them having been officially informed of his whereabouts or condition to date.

The relatives indicated that they have visited different police stations and made numerous calls in search of information, without obtaining concrete answers about the whereabouts of the man, a resident of the Ceboruco community, El Alto del Aguacate in the municipal district of Canca La Piedra of the aforementioned municipality

The situation has generated concern and distress among those close to him, who fear for his physical integrity and demand that the authorities immediately clarify the circumstances of the transfer and reveal his whereabouts.

So far, police authorities have not issued an official version regarding the complaint filed by Taveras Tobía’s relatives.
