Santo Domingo. – The President of the Chamber of Deputies and Deputy of the Republic, Alfredo Pacheco, clarified this Tuesday that he has not made any proposal to modify the labor reform bill currently being processed in the National Congress, specifically regarding the issue of severance pay.
The legislator emphasized that, from the Chamber of Deputies, there is no intention to promote changes to this acquired right of Dominican workers.
“I clarify responsibly that I have not made any proposal to modify the labor reform bill. Therefore, in the Chamber of Deputies, severance pay will not be touched and there will be no modifications regarding this matter,” he expressed.
Likewise, he reiterated that the legislative body’s commitment is to guarantee an open, democratic discussion process that respects the institutional framework, listening to all sectors involved within the study process of the legislative piece.
