Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, highlighted the historical relevance of the United States on the occasion of its anniversary, emphasizing its impact on democracy, the global economy, and technological development.
Sanz Lovatón pointed out that, beyond the differences that may exist with its history and the exercise of its power, the North American nation represents a project founded by men and women who left a Europe marked by intolerance, hereditary hierarchies, and religious persecution.

Likewise, he stated that the United States has been the scene of historical milestones such as the proclamation of equal rights, the consecration of the pursuit of happiness as a fundamental principle, the Civil War that put an end to slavery, as well as its participation in the defeat of Nazism and the containment of communism.
The official also highlighted the country’s contributions in terms of innovation, citing industrial development, technological advancement, and the evolution of sectors such as medicine, space exploration, and transportation, as well as the role of innovation hubs like Silicon Valley.
Sanz Lovatón maintained that the influence of the United States has contributed to global progress, although he acknowledged that its history has also been marked by challenges and contradictions typical of any society.
Finally, he expressed a message of congratulations to the American people for the commemoration of their anniversary, highlighting the importance of the relationship between both nations.
