Santo Domingo.- Marileidy Paulino will rejoin the Dominican 4×400-meter mixed relay team this Monday, during the start of track and field competitions at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
The information was confirmed by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz, who reported that the Olympic champion will compete in three events of the competition: the 400 meters flat, the mixed 4×400 relay, and the women’s 4×400 relay.
Marileidy Paulino
Paulino returns to this relay format after a four-year absence. Through her social media, she expressed that it represents an opportunity to compete once again alongside her national team teammates and to do so in front of the Dominican public.
The national quartet will be composed of Marileidy Paulino, Christopher Melenciano, Erick Sánchez, and Anabel Medina, according to the information provided by sports authorities.
Marileidy Paulino Relay
The 4×400 meter mixed relay final is scheduled for 7:30 PM this Monday at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, where the Dominican delegation will seek to add a new medal.
In addition to the mixed relay, Marileidy Paulino will also compete in the 400 meters and the women’s 4×400 relay, events included in the athletics calendar of the Central American and Caribbean Games.
As of this Sunday, the Dominican Republic held fifth place in the medal table of the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, with 57 medals, of which 13 are gold, in addition to silver and bronze medals. The national delegation will seek to improve that position with the start of the track and field events.
